Key Accountabilities:
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and test mechanical components on robots from simple-to-complex systems such as robot arms, driving system, enclosure, pneumatic system, core structure, etc.
- Create 3D CAD of robot mechanical components, perform engineering analysis, and prepare drawing for manufacturing parts.
- Contact, negotiate, and communicate with vendor/ supplier to fabricate the robot components.
- Work closely with software and embedded system team.
- Participate integration test and field test with team.
- Manage documentation/paperwork proactively.
- Work within project timelines and constraints, communicating risks and potential problems to colleges and team lead as soon as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronic engineering, or similar technical discipline.
- Good skill of using mechanical 3D CAD/CAM design software such as Autodesk inventor, Autodesk fusion.
- Good understanding of static or dynamic stress analysis, CFD, heat transfer and has ability to perform the simulation test in CAE software.
- Good understanding of mechanical part fabrication process, procedure, and limitation principles.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in related field (academic experience such as senior project, robot competition, research in related field can be counted).
- Good skill of using mechanical workshop tools.
Advantage if you have:
- Good skill or understanding of CNC.
- Good skill in drawing 3D surface and meshes.
- Good skill of using MATLAB.
- Good understanding in control algorithms such as PID, Fuzzy logic, Feed forward.
- Experience in mold design for fiber glass or carbon fiber.
- Experience in mobile robot development such as UAV, ROV, AUV or rescue robot.
- Understand or have any background in any of the following topic: ROS, Object recognition, SLAM, 3D reconstruction, machine learning, sensor fusion, motion control and DSP.
